How the Georgia gas options differ

Georgia’s PSC distinguishes Atlanta Gas Light’s marketer-based system from Liberty’s regulated service and municipal gas systems. AGL delivers gas while certified marketers sell supply.

Establish the service system first. Being in Georgia does not prove that a business participates in AGL marketer choice.

Utility and commercial service map

This map covers the utility routes represented by our Georgia city guides. It is not an exhaustive statewide utility or supplier roster. A community or county listing does not confirm an individual service address.

Albany Utilities: Albany Utilities commercial service

Albany Utilities operates a municipal natural-gas system and describes purchasing and scheduling supply for its customers. Its advertised conversion incentive is residential in scope. A business equipment project needs a separate commercial eligibility and rate review rather than an assumed residential rebate.

Cost scope: City gas charge and any applicable commercial fixed fees. Operating question: Commercial project eligibility and service availability.

Atlanta Gas Light: Atlanta Gas Light marketer service

AGL delivers gas while certified marketers provide supply. AGL explains that its base delivery charge continues when the customer changes marketers and is linked to premises-specific demand. Its commercial worksheet uses the account’s Dedicated Design Day Capacity factor; a marketer’s therm price does not replace that charge.

Cost scope: AGL base charge, marketer customer charge and the complete therm-price definition. Operating question: Certified marketer, renewal notice and the first bill’s AGL pass-through.

Liberty Utilities Georgia: Regulated utility supply review

Georgia PSC treats Liberty’s regulated gas service separately from the AGL marketer market. The useful starting comparison is the utility’s own commercial sales classification and gas-cost component. Any alternative service arrangement needs its own utility tariff confirmation.

Cost scope: Customer charge, usage charge and the applicable purchased-gas component. Operating question: Whether an alternative arrangement is actually available under this company’s tariff.

City of Warner Robins: City of Warner Robins commercial service

Warner Robins provides municipal natural-gas service along with water, sewer and sanitation. Its utility billing office is the starting point for commercial utility rates. The city’s published residential sewage averaging information is unrelated to business gas supply selection.

Cost scope: City gas customer and usage/supply charges. Operating question: Commercial gas terms from utility billing and any service transition requirements.

Territory and program exceptions to keep visible

Albany’s published gas-conversion incentive is described for residential property owners and developers. It is not evidence that a commercial equipment project qualifies for that incentive. Albany source notes.

Georgia PSC separates Liberty’s regulated service from the Atlanta Gas Light marketer system. Do not use AGL’s marketer comparison as this meter’s default procurement route. Columbus source notes.

Warner Robins lists natural gas among its city utility services. A city gas bill needs the local commercial rate and gas cost component, rather than an assumed AGL marketer contract. Warner Robins source notes.

A practical Georgia account decision

For AGL accounts, request a full bill comparison that includes applicable delivery determinants and marketer customer charges. A low therm price by itself is not the bill.

Record the utility’s legal service company, commercial rate code, billed unit and supply arrangement in one account row. Keep a separate row for each meter even where a supplier offers one master agreement. Normalize gas units before entering rates; compare constant supply prices and fees only after the available service and cost scope are clear.

Sources and review notes

Reviewed October 16, 2026. Program information can change. Confirm the effective utility tariff, supplier availability and written offer before proceeding. Examples and planning tools are educational; they are not executable quotes or verified customer results.

A practical next step

Put the full contract in view.

Ask about your utility, supply terms or renewal. Keep account numbers and documents out of the initial inquiry.
