01 / Make offers comparable

Gas offer comparison

See how unit prices and fixed fees work together. Defaults are illustrative, not market quotes. Your entries stay in this browser.

Your planning assumptions

Use your utility’s heat content for Ccf/Mcf conversions. The default is an illustrative factor, not a meter-specific value.

Excludes delivery, taxes, exit charges, capacity and other items unless already included in the entered rate or fee. Assumes a flat commodity rate and usage proportional to the selected months; use a monthly model for seasonal/indexed offers.

Ask about an offer

Only the inquiry choice carries forward. Your figures are not attached.

How it works

Energy basis: 1 MMBtu = 1 Dth = 10 therms. Rates are converted to $/therm. Period cost = annual therms × months ÷ 12 × normalized rate + monthly supplier fee × months.

Break-even annual therms = 12 × (B monthly fee − A monthly fee) ÷ (A normalized rate − B normalized rate), when the result is non-negative and the rates differ. Compare the contract definitions separately.

02 / Same energy, different units

Gas unit converter

Therm, MMBtu and Dth are energy units. Ccf and Mcf are volume units and require the actual heat content. Enter the factor from your bill or utility; do not assume 1 Mcf equals 1 MMBtu.

Converted quantity

—

1 therm = 100,000 Btu; 1 MMBtu = 10 therms. Ccf × Btu/cubic foot ÷ 1,000 = therms. Mcf × Btu/cubic foot ÷ 100 = therms. This converts quantities, not invoice definitions or rates.

03 / Work backward from the contract

Renewal planning dates

Enter the notice and enrollment lead times from your agreement and utility. These are planning reminders, not cancellation notices.

The initial-review reminder adds a 30-day planning buffer before the earlier milestone. Confirm business-day rules, holidays, delivery methods and meter-read timing separately.

Sources and review notes

Reviewed October 15, 2026. Program information can change. Confirm the effective utility tariff, supplier availability and written offer before proceeding. Examples and planning tools are educational; they are not executable quotes or verified customer results.

A practical next step

Put the full contract in view.

Ask about your utility, supply terms or renewal. Keep account numbers and documents out of the initial inquiry.
